We have had the Elux Icon Induction cooktop bout 6 months now. Luv it. Boils water extremely fast, about twice as fast as an 18k gas flame. Very fast to change temps--you turn it down, it quits boiling almost immediately.
Very easy to clean, most the time we cover it with paper towels when we cook, so just dump the paper towels---don't do this unattended thou, if you let a pot run dry, the pot could get hot nuff to ignite the towels.
Very quiet with all the pots and pans we have, Emeril-ware and caphalon.

Just tonight I finally got to install the E'lux Icon 30" induction cooktop that has been sitting on the floor for almost a month. As Gary said it heats very quickly. I have the new model without the SS bar across the control area. I think when I picked it up I slightly bent the SS frame. It does not sit flat in one spot... argh! How did I do that? Anyway a I poached a few eggs for a late dinner to break it in and it works great. I actualy gave up gas for the induction. Gas is not cheap anymore and here in South TX any heat you can avoid you are better off. Plus induction is just plain faster than gas.

I have the Circulon Infinite cookware. I got it because I got a great deal and we like the easy clean up, but the SS bottom on the AL pans tend to be a little noisier than 'all-clad' type of pans. The cooktop makes a faint humming sound on high settings but it is hardly noticeable. 7 or lower and it is silent.

I got my cooktop for $999 as a customer return, so all things considered it was a good deal.

The non-icon E-Lux has two 8" elements, I like having the larger 10" element of the Icon.
