I am not a professional cleaner, however, time would depend on what you do.

Some cleaners dust, vacuum, mop, clean counters, toilet, tub/showers, feather dust window blinds, change beds, empty trash only. They would spend less time than others who additionally clean oven, frig, windows, sliding glass door, dust baseboards, sweep porch and/or patio, etc.

I have a 2500 sq. ft. house and my cleaner team (husband/wife) takes 1 1/2 hrs to do the first listed above. They take no breaks and are steady workers.

I completely understand what you're saying. This is how we do it. In six hours, one of our professional cleaners can clean/ disinfect bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen (exterior of cabinets, appliances, and countertops), main rooms, to remove trash, mop, dust and straighten the appearance in all rooms. Two cleaners do this in 3 hours, and 3 cleaners in 2 hours. In the end, it's all about the people who work together in a team. And since you're the only person cleaning, I think the time you spend is reasonable.

What are the steps to deep cleaning? What products do you use for deep cleaning?

When I had house cleaners, floors were mopped, carpets and rugs vacuumed, bath rooms cleaned, kitchen cleaned. They divided the house into 4 “focus areas” and every week one focus area got extra cleaning.

Update: I finally realized my great house cleaners were not so great after all. The feather duster was not touching the dust and things were rearranged to make it look like they had been cleaned and toilets were black under the rim. One day I had to leave the house for about 45 minutes and when I arrived back the cleaners were gettingin their car to leave. Hmmm....so much for cleaning my house. Yes, they were fired. I now have a truly great one person house cleaner that is very thourough and everything is actually cleaned. It takes her 4-5 hours to clean my 2,500 sq. ft. house.
