I have the XOP pyramid shaped hood over my 30 inch Wolf rangetop. It's 600 cfm and that's plenty for us. I rarely use all 4 burners at once. I can see the steam and smoke getting sucked up even on low setting (it has 3 settings). The light is also quite bright, which I like.

I got the XO over the Zephyr of the same style because of the extra CFM, tough it was a bit more expensive.

I would appreciate a lower speed. Kobe has something they call "QuietMode" that is a special low-noise low speed in a similar hood that would be another option, although I think Zephyr does a better job of making the grease cups less obtrusive - they're built in, don't hang down like they do on the Kobe. As I say, though, that's a minor issue - of course, silent would be good but for me the functionality is the main thing and that's excellent.

I bought an XO range hood and have had constant problems with both lights. The lights have a mind of their own as they will turn on and off in an instant. I have replaced both lights and the problem persists. Can anyone offer a solution? Very disappointed in this product and would not recommend to anyone

How old is it? XO has a 2 year warranty. If its pretty new, I would call the main distributor. Thats a company called Eastern Marketing.

We have a 36" XO pro chimney hood - if the "buttons" to turn fan/light on and off are flat, i.e. touchscreen style, not actual mechanical buttons that move, DON'T BUY IT. Sometimes it takes 40 tries to get the light or fan on or off, sometimes we give up, and it works less well when warm...which is when, for safety, you want the hood to actually work. :( Our model was so horrible XO gave us a refund, although we have yet to determine if that's lip service or reality. Our XO hood drives us crazy (and is unsafe) on a daily basis.

That's our problem too, the touch panel works on the first try, or takes XYZ tries, sometimes too many, and we give up before reaching something that actuivates.

The fan might work, or not, the light might work, or not, its unpredictable... and annoying.

    Any resolution?

@lance - XO reached out to me after I left my review and offered to send a tech to try to fix it. He said sometimes the panel is more or less "loose" from whatever it connects to, which causes the inconsistency. Sometimes the parts are touching, sometiems they're not. BUT I haven't heard from a tech to schedule in a bit, so I need to circle back. I was impressed that the company read reviews and stood behind their product enough to reach out, now to see it through!

We have a 36" XOI insert which works OK, but my problem is ergonomic. I am 5'3" and although I can remove the baffle filters to clean them, I can't fit them back into place. They are above an induction cook top and I'm haunted by the fear of dropping them so I cover the cook top with large pillows "just in case." As my husband has tremors, he can't do it either. So I have to pay for our handyman to do this task. Even he (quite tall) finds it awkward to reinsert them. I would have chosen a different appliance had I known in time how inconvenient this would be.

I have the sa problem with the touctouch screen. Unless your fingers are warm it won’t work. Eve Even then, it might not activate. Despite many attempts I can’t turn on the lights

    Any advice?

Very disappinted in the quality of XO

I just bought XO 36 inch hood as a replacement under their 90 day love it r leave it policy. I can’t wait to get this out and replace it as this is the biggest piece of junk range hood I’ve ever bought. I chose to leave it for the following reasons number one sounds like a B 29 starting up on the tarmac getting ready for takeoff at rattle so much number two. The vent baffles are so thin that if you do drop them, they bend and dent number three when you go to reinsert or try to pull it out you may have a tendency to break the tabs when they go back in so under the 90 days I had to replace two baffle filters and then I had to be real careful pulling them out to put them in the dishwasher, clean them so on a scale of one to 10 xo hoods owe points ohwepoints oh points
