Flag day decorating

Kathleen mentioned that Flag Day was coming up, and since I didn't decorate for Memorial Day, I figured this was a good time to decorate red/white/blue so I could enjoy it from now until the 4th of July.

I usually decorate with pastel colors, so this is a big contrast--but fun for a couple weeks and these holidays really should merit some special decorations too.

I'll share pics of my other decorations as we get closer to July 4th.

God bless all our men and women who serve our country--both past and present.

Thanks ladies, just thought I'd surprise everyone with a tablescape. I may even do another one using my blue plates that are like these glasses. Will have to see if I can come up with another centerpiece.

So where is Kathleen's? I thought sure she'd be doing one for Flag Day--maybe it will be on her blog later.

I'm loving the red, white and blue. The red plates are really nice and the way the bows frame the centerpiece is really cool. You did great with the new color scheme.

I didn't do one...I mentioned it, but didn't think anyone was interested! So I'll do 2 for July 4th! :)

Frou, I was trying to figure out a centerpiece and those bows were just laying there so I thought "runner" and it worked pretty good.

Thanks Miss Jaybird, you are always such a good "cheerleader" keeping us encouraged to "try more". ;o)

See Kathleen, when you talk, I listen! Remember that commercial for Hutton or some financial thing? LOL I'll look forward to your tables for the 4th. You always come up with wonderful ideas.

Hi Jane, little Miss Liberty seemed good for this holiday. I'll have pics of how I've used a few more of my creations before the 4th.

Candy, would you believe those blue goblets were a lucky TS find? I just love the shape of them and am thinking about getting rid of my other blue goblets because I always prefer these. Not sure I'll do a table for the 4th, it's usually paper plates around here when we cook out. I'll eagerly watch for your's, okay? ;o)

Cute latern! Your table looks very festive and patriotic! Susan

Thanks MM, I was glad that I had the blue placemats so with those and my white and red dishes it all worked out well.

Susan I'm glad you enjoyed my efforts. Don't remember where I found that lantern, might even have been Dollar Tree. It has a battery and light inside even.

I'll post pics of the mantel and buffet in a week or so for the July 4th holiday.

Luvs, very very pretty red, white and blue table and your little patriotic girl is so sweet. Did you just make her? Will be looking forward to seeing your other decorations.

Hi Punk, yes, I painted her a couple years ago. I think she was a Myra Mayhy pattern. Hmmm, you just helped me remember that I also have a rustic Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty stashed away--I'd better go hunt for them. LOL
