Dreary?? It rained cats and dogs all day! I got soaked..and chilly, only around 50.
I went to get my hair cut on the other fork, and hit HG, and TJMaxx and the grocery..
No dishes in HG or TJ...
Now you are going to laugh, but this grocery store bought a boat load of white dishes from gofortun..I looked it up and they say Israel..Well, I had bought some of the rimmed bowls a few weeks ago..the ones I offered to get for OA..(but she is right, so MANY diff shades of white!) So I picked up a few more. They were very inexpensive, (cheap) and nice quality..Price on request..:)
The funny thing is, I have them stashed, read hidden, so I don't really know what I have...I have to take inventory soon!
Sorry Jane, felt like I was having a conversation with you!

The pink ware is drooly..so pretty!
    Thanks for the pics!

LOL...love it kathleen... I also 'felt' as though you were right in the room talking to me!!
With the dreary, came the rain here too. Just awful. There are mushrooms all over the lawn! I hope your new 'do' didn't get spoiled. lol
Again, my kind of shopping >> going out for groceries and bringing back 'Goodies' ...hehehe Sounds like you did really well with those dishes.
I love the size of the rimmed bowls. I've got them in the Mikasa IV and also in Pfaltzgraph (pasta/soup). DH likes that kind of bowl for soup and pasta. You can't go wrong with the white...but I hear you on the different shades of white...so true. I'm looking forward to you showing them off.
Laughing at your 'hidden stash'. For two days now, I've received ebay winnings...and there's another two on the way. The other day, I took the package before DH was aware it arrived. Today, DH wondered why the mail was left on the porch, when he saw me bring it in (but not the package). I said 'oh your prescription arrived...I guess he didn't want it to get wet'... Which, of course, puzzeled him. I know, I'm bad. Now I have to work on a plan for the other two..
Wouldn't it be great if some of us lived near each other... we could 'cover' for each other's purchases. We could tell them we were accepting a package for 'our friend'...'not us' !! They'd never know. I wonder how much mileage we could get out of that plan. LOL

I want to know why everyone's stores sell dishes and mine dont??? Oh well, guess they are saving me money, huh? LOL

Jane, I was cracking up thinking about you rushing to get the mail before DH could walk out there! And Kathleen, I hope you are able to find all those stashed dishes when you have some "alone" time! LOL

It rained here this morning too, just a couple of showers, then cleared off by noon and we had sunshine and a bit of wind. Drove up to a cousin's by the Iowa/Missouri line. She has a lovely home on 10 acres outside of town. Lots of beautiful flowers and her home sits on a hill with views of pastures and trees. We visited an Amish nursery and general store--no dishes however!

Jane, all the dishes on that link were so pretty. I don't really have much red in my home, but those would be as pretty on a wall as on a table wouldn't they?

Oh Luvs...your cousin's place sounds like 'Heaven' !
I've traveled throughout the US (cross country camping), and always marvled at the natural beauty in each state. I just was so awed by the states that had the beautiful wildflowers all over. I think I would make a fresh bouquet every day. I wouldn't have to worry about the deer..there would be pleanty for all of us!!

I agree with you on those dishes. Some have such beautiful scenes on them..like looking at art, and would be nice to just display.

As far as scooping up packages before DH sees them...I'm thinking on how to go about the next two that are coming.
We will be leaving late this afternoon for NJ - my Grndson's Graduation (from PreK) is tomorrow..We will be coming home late tomorrow afternoon. One is supposed to arrive tomorrow. If it's on the porch, I'll have him put the car right in the Garage when we arrive. Maybe he won't see it.
    I hope...I hope...I hope.

    Ooooohhhh red and white...yum!
Y'all are funny about the packages...fortunately for me, my lunch hour is late, so I can check for packages before DH gets home. I don't order too many dishes, but bolts of fabric are pretty obvious :^)
Jane, I will get your bowls in the mail sometime today...I have the bowls and the packing materials, but I have to get them together :^)
Hugs to you all....hope you have a good week!

Jane, that has to be one of the funniest 'hide the evidence' story!! :) Between you, Jaybird and PD's story, I dont feel so bad about hiding things from DH! :)

I discovered that my DH often does the same thing--orders/picks up a new computer program or game then stashes it in his office. Later when I happen to walk in and notice he's playing a new game, he always says "Oh, I've had this for awhile now". LOL
