One possible solution is an Ionic Breeze air purifier.
I have a friend who owns a Toyota dealership and when cars come in on trade they often plug one of these in and leave the car to sit overnight. The next day all the smells are removed and the car is ready to sell on their used lot.
I know that certain brands of these can get expensive, so you may need to shop around for a good deal.

you may strike up a conversation about your allergies - if you can bring it up in casual conversation - how your allergies prevent you from using perfume, hairsprays, fragrant lotions and soaps and strong smelling cleaning solutions - and it really bothers you to be around those scents. many people, if aware that is a problem, will be considerate enough not use those in your home-

my doctors office has posted a sign that says "many of our clients are sensitive to strong fragances, please refrain from wearing them in our waiting room, serious offenders may be asked to leave." ... perhaps you could make a sign for your door kind of the like the warning this house is protected by sonitrol .... but instead warning no artificial scents past this point...

Why is it that people use so much scent when they use it? Instead of just a hint of fragrance, they hit you between the eyes with it.

My theory is because they can't smell it. You're nose gets used to ordors its always exposed to and you simply stop smelling them. Try it sometime, put a dab a perfume on and make note every few minutes of how strongly you can smell it. Usually within half a hour my nose has completely stopped smelling the perfume, it just gets filtered out.

So folks reapply and put it on heavier because they may not realize that while THEY can't smell it other people CAN.

What I want to know is, how to get rid of perfume odor on your body. A freshman sprayed me with some horrible Victoria's Secret Pear Glace body splash, and also my coat and books. Now I smell horrible. I tried to cover it up with a friend's perfume, but it made me smell even worse. I'm in school, so I don't have access to a shower. What can I do? HELP!!!!!!!

Rubbing alcohol cancels out the smell of parfume. I don't think I would use it on walls or finished surface. Maybe you could set out a dish of it for a day or two. If you every get a parfume on you that doesn't agree or stinks, just dab a cotton puff in rubbing alcohol and wipe the sprayed area. Works like a charm!

I too am so sensitive to odors. I keep alcohol in a mister bottle and always at arms length. My body is so full of toxic waste(years of cleaning products)now I can barely take any scent. I would have sprayed the rooms air, being careful of any fabrics.
