Once a month, at the office, we have a day where we celebrate all the birthdays for that month. Someone makes a cake and now, crazy me, I have volunteered to do the table settings to make them more special. I decided to even set individual place settings for the 3 birthday people. This month, they were all women so I went with a pink and yellow setting. I brought everything on the table from home which took a bit of packing. I got to use my set of tiny pink "faux" presents as well. Someone else made the cake (wish they would have used a cake plate but it tasted good!).

Wow! I bet they really felt special. I sure love your china with the roses. It looks so delicate and sweet--one of the prettiest patterns I've seen. Love how you did a flower and a candle at each place also. Luvs

Oh I just love the dishes. Such a lovely pattern and the scalloped edges are so pretty. You made their day really special and memorable!

Wonderful tablesetting, they are so lucky to have you to do that for them. If I did that at work, it would be totally lost on them (95% men) LOL.

Thanks ladies! I did feel more inclined to do it this month as the 3 birthday girls are very nice to work with and "deserving" of something special. And they were very appreciative.

My china is "Dimity Rose" by Royal Albert and it is the pattern I picked out when I got married. Before I got SO into dishes, I used it much more but now that I have many other sets of dishes, it seldom gets used. It was nice to get it out on this occasion.

Judith, maybe you SHOULD set a "proper" table at coffee for the men at your work and see their reaction...maybe you can convert them into appreciating the finer things in life! LOL At the very least, they would probably enjoy some muffins or whatever you put on the dishes. LOL!
