Ross had some of the blue and white Johnson Bros. "Old Britain Castles" last evening.... It is the one made in China, but none the less very pretty! I got the R/W version of the cereal bowls for $1.99 each and the B/W were the same price...do you need any???? They also had the salad plates.

Let me know if I can help you out!

    Jaybird,
That is so sweet of you to offer your help. I do have some of the R/W versions, and we do have a Ross here in town, I will check it out this weekend. Thank you so much for offering to help me out! (It is always so dangerous for me to go into those stores...my poor empty wallet) LOL

Very pretty dishes-- I can imagine you could do quite a lot of unique settings with those.

Hi Jenn...glad you came by we sure have been missing you!!

    Jay,
    Do you mean these?

I found a set of 6 of each when I was in NC. I also found a set of pink stacking plates. I want to set a table with them when I get enough stuff to set it properly.

I also found something else you will like, I think.

Alfred and I found these at TJ Maxx yesterday. I put them in the basket and then went to put them back because our future financial situation is so uncertain with the accident and long recovery, etc. But Alfred said to get them because they were so pretty and I hadn't bought anything for me lately. ( Obviously he forgot about the Trail Blazer full of stuff I bought in NC in May!!) And I didn't remind him!

    What cha think?

Oh My...I think I'm getting 'turned on' by >> RED!! LOL Those are just beautiful Betty. How exquisite, and just so
different. I don't think you would need much to make a statement with them. They stand out on their own.
However, I can just see a beautiful table setting using them and accessories..Can't wait for you to show them off.
Now, being that I LOVE blue & white...I had to add my 2 cents on the Old Britian Castles plates... I have a collection of Blue & White, and my nephew was renovating a house years ago, and gave me 10 of them that the people were throwing out!! Now he knew my passion for Blue & White, so he scooped them up, and they are now MINE ! Below is a pic of some of my collection.. They just keep 'grabbing me' everytime I go to a tag sale !! LOL

Betty, that 2nd set of dishes is too die for! They are just gorgeous and what a unique shape. Good find, and I'm so glad you got them. They are going to look so great on your table, and are bound to make anything you put on them taste excellent. ;o)

Slinkey, what a wonderful collection of blue and white you have! And some really neat pieces too. Love the teapots and tea, oatmeal, rice and barley canisters really caught my eye too. You have such a nice large cabinet to display them too. So do you ever "use" them or are they just to enjoy looking at?

Thank you Luvs. LOL, Actually, I do use the newer pieces, but with the older ones, some are really fragile with age, so, I just enjoy looking at them :)

    Oh Jane,
I bet you gave that nephew quite a big hug and kiss for that beautiful stuff! How exquisite. I've never seen canisters like those before. And the tea pot in the middle really catches the eye. I love the soup tureen.
I don't have any serving pieces, so that and the 2 platters are calling my name.

Thank you Betty..Yes, my nephew received such a great big hug for sure! I had to laugh, because he told me when he first saw them...'I know these plates from somewhere' then he remembered it was me! I was just so touched and surprised that he even bothered to take them and think of me. The Canisters and Tea Set, I bought at an Estate Sale yrs ago, and the Platters were in a 'Box Lot' at an auction. I waited 9 hrs for them to be auctioned off. Most people went home..but it paid off to wait so long, because they were $35 for the box lot of Three Platters and some other Blue & White dishes. When I got home, DH said he was worried and thought I'd run away because I was gone so long (hmmmm could that have been wishful thinking)
..That was before I had a Cell phone ...>> LOL

Hi Calicocat...it's great to see you over here!! This is a wonderful "table" full of folks!

Welcome Calicocat. They are beautiful. I can't believe I found them. The hard part is setting a table that will compliment their beauty. I'm not as talented as some of the others here.
I agree with Luvs... Come on back and post some pics of some of your lovlies. If you want to see some beauties, go back and look at some of the Christmas trees posted here.WOW!
I really love the thread where we had the virtual tea party also.
