Luvs Fall decorating--so far

Promised pics this week, so here is what I've done so far. Still needs a bit of tweaking, but at least I'm making progress.

Here's the mantle. Still need to add words on the top of the little plaque like "Welcome" or "Happy Harvest". It's still a work in progress. ;o)

Here's the box window behind the couch, put beaded pumpkins and squash in the apothocary jar, and potpouri (sp) in the pumpkin jar:

Here's the end table, just used leaves and a little pumkin with wire accents in the jar:

And here's the basket I filled with leaves for the coffee table:

Still need to do the stacked plates for the buffet and something for the dining table.

I'm sure I will still be picking up additonal things and tweaking it a bit here and there, but at least it is a good start.

Enjoy the pics.

Thank you for getting photos so soon. Looks wonderful.
I especially like the mantle decor. That plaque with the bird is WONDERFUL, I just love it. My favorite saying would be "Happy Fall, Y'all". For some reason that one always makes me smile.
You did a great job and have some neat items. The candles on the mantle by the black bird are really pretty!

It's so happy and bright. Clearly it was a lot of effort, but it looks worth it. :-)

Everything looks great!! I never thought about putting pumpkins on candle holders, may have to try that.

Thanks for sharing your photos Luvs! I really like the apothecary jar with the beaded pumpkins. I might have to steal that idea from you. I also like the pumpkins sitting on top of the candleholders.

Glad you enjoyed the pics ladies. Thanks for the nice comments, makes it all worthwhile. ;o)

Karen, those candles are so old. Got them from Avon years ago and only use them once a year! LOL I'll work on finishing the little plaque next week. I had a bunch of those and decided I should use them. I like the idea of putting them on the easel.

The idea for the pumpkins on the candleholders came from one of the sites posted on here about the stacked pumpkins. Would have liked to have black metal ones like the pic in the catalog, but just used what I had on hand. Maybe I'll buy some metal ones next year.

Dream, I think anything you put in those jars would look good, they just have such an elegant look about them to begin with! I do love the beaded veggies--got those all in one box from Marshall's for $5.99--they only had one box or I would have bought more.

Wow Luvs, that a great deal on the beaded pumpkins! I wonder if Michaels or Hobby Lobby has any of them? I'll have to make a note to check when I go back. I really like them.

Luvs~ everything looks absolutely great. Ya done good!! ha I love everything. Love the beaded veggies in the apothocary jar, the pumpkins on the candle holders, the bell jar is the perfect fall color. I love the plaque. Can't wait to see a closer-up vision over on painting when you are done with the wording. All your hard work was definitely worth it. I know I said I'd wait until closer to Oct, but makes me want to get my decorations out and get started. ~Anj

Luvs, black spray paint can be your friend!! I washed down some old glass candlesticks with alcohol, let them dry and spray painted them black! I've had them for a couple of years, and they still look fine!
I love your arrangements!! I really do have to get busy now to catch up!!
I saw a sign this week that made me think of you....maybe you could use the saying on your stuff "Celebrate the Harvest".

Dreamgoddess, just to let you know that Homegoods had some similar fall beaded items. The price was like $9.99 I think. They were really pretty.

Jaybird, good idea, but I might want to use these for something else. Actually I use them allot. I did some some nice black metal ones at Walmart, will have to go back and see if I can afford them! Just so many things I like/want--sure need that winning lottery ticket. ;o)

Deanna, let us know if we can help you with posting pics. If you open a free Photobucket account then it is really easy to post them on here.

Ree, your comment made me smile too--masterpiece indeed! LOL

You decs look great, you have been working hard! Can't wait to see your stacked plates!
I have to post what I found in TJ"S..I just love it, but it is Cmas so it can wait!

Luvs to craft, you have done a great deal and it looks very good. I am happy I found this part of GW. So many creative people here who I can learn from.

Karen, you crack me up...Happy Fall, Y'all?? Do they speak Southern in Arizona, LOL
Patricia, we are not as structured here as they are on Home Dec. We chat and laugh, and have a good time! A little bit of business and a lot of pleasure! And no one will ever ask you to "photoshop" for them here.. LOL!!
Luvs, you really did a great job working all your finds in to your decor. I love the cloche! So glad you went back for it!

Judith, still not up to par with the "teacher's" (that's you, in case you wondered!), but I do think I'm improving. ;o)

You know these oranges and browns really don't "go" with my normal decor (example: see the pic above the mantle) but guess I am just going to ignore that and enjoy the season! LOL

Kathleen, good to hear from you. I know you have been really busy. Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad I went back for the cloche too--it worked out good in that vignette.

I've been working the last three days, have some pics of the store that I plan to post for you guys to see--soon, but probably not tonight.

I've got to get to work on my plates, haven't started even started them yet. Just using what I bought last year, so no big deal--but I really like them and they look so sparkly and pretty. So glad Judith turned us on to making them.

Patricia, this is a small but very friendly group. None of us take it too seriously, in fact we joke around quite a lot. We all feel that we are "learning" to make pretty decorations and arrangements for our homes. Hope you will have fun with us.

Welcome Patricia, this is just the greatest group to hang with, know you'll enjoy them too.

Kathleen, I was born in Alabama...so Happy Fall, Y'All would appeal to me. LOL. Actually have seen that on several little signs and it always makes me smile.

Luvs, just a thought...with your painting talent, why don't do you do a cute Fall picture on poster board and just slip into your frame IN FRONT of the glass? I've occasionally gotten the cheap Xmas prints at Michaels and done this with some of my hung paintings. A simple solution to turn them into Holiday art. LOL.

Luvs, I must have missed this post last nite. Everything is so pretty and I especially love your amber bell jar cloche!!!! I'm hooked on them it seems, that is the size of the one I found last week for $5.00 at a yard sale. I have never seen an amber one, how unique & perfect for fall!

Yachter, did you see the post where I showed both the amber and the red one? Got one for $1.00 and the other for $2.00 on the discount table at Marshall's. They had a plum colored one for $7.00 on the same table.

I saw your clear one, you will get allot of use out of that. Did your's come with a base? Mine didn't, but I have clear plates that fit perfectly.

Karen, thanks for the vote of confidence in my painting ability, but it doesn't extend to landscapes I'm afraid! I might have another picture that I could switch that one out for just during the Fall/Winter months. We'll see.

Luvs, my decor doesn't necessairly match the "Fall" colors either, but seasonal things in nature can always be fitted in. IMHO LOL Even at the Christmas season, lets say you do a "tradtional tree" with the bright muliple colors of greens, reds, blues, golds etc...the tree may not match the homes decor colors, but it still looks beautful none the less. So I would not worry one bit that it doesn't "match", my seasonal decor doesn't either but I still enjoy it, after all it is not permanent. So "enjoy away" your beautiful reds, oranges, rusts of the Fall Season!

Thanks, Judith, you are so sweet. And yes, I am enjoying the pretty Fall colors. Love this time of the year, just something so "homey" about it.

One of my neighbors was over yesterday and saw it all--she was so complimentary. We then went with another neighbor and shopped the neighboring towns TS all day. Had so much fun. She was telling the other neighbor that if she thinks my outside patio looks cute with the Fall decorations, she has got to come see my decorations inside! Made me feel really good that she liked it so much. ;o)

Thanks Cheri, I consider that a "big compliment" coming from you. Your hoiday decorations always look so wonderful! Luvs

Luvs, that is so cool that the neighbors loved your designs, I know "we" do our decorations for ourselves and family, but it is so FUN when other people appreciate them too!
