Feedback on Appliance decision...

Hello everyone-

Sort of a newbie...iVillage for 10+ years, newer to GardenWeb, but I have been lurking for a while as I make my decisions. Buying a new house, and had initially planned to re-do the kitchen next year, until the Sellers decided they wanted to take their appliances. Oh well, no time like the present. The seller did a gut re-hab but I hate the kitchen set up. So I re-configure. The kitchen is a bit small - the only ding on the house, so I will need to use my real estate wisely. I have visualized how I want the kitchen, and the contractor is coming on Tuesday to do the estimates, take measurements etc.... But anyway, on to the appliances.

Range - Down to 2, but heavily leaning toward the Bluestar 36" RNB with 6 burners. I like the idea of the grill, but I don't know that I will use it, unless its easy to clean... if its not, then it will be wasted real estate. that said, I am in Illinois so outdoor grilling from November to April is a non-starter. I haven't totally ruled out a Wolf 36" AG, but it would take quite a bit to push me off the Bluestar. I've been cooking on a Viking sealed burner cook top and I think I really want a true open burner. Still need a vent... Waiting to see if I'll be able to move the range location from where it currently is a little further down the wall (they apparently never heard of a kitchen work triangle).

If I can add it in, I'll likely add an electric wall oven, but I'll decide on that after the contractor gives me the mock up.

Refrigerator - I had my heart set on a Sub-zero pro 48, but then I fell in love with the Liebherr SBS 245 (or 246)! What a gorgeous and multi-faceted machine for what seems like several thousand less than the sub-zero (please correct if I am wrong - what pricing I've been able to gather puts the SZ around $13K and the Liebherr around $8500). I also like that I can have my wine refrigerator in the same piece - (I have a full size deep freezer that will be in the basement)

Replacing DW later (only thing they are leaving) I want a Miele and if I have any cash left over, I'll get it, but if not it can wait until later in the year or spring.

Still working on Microwave and possible ice maker. Thinking if I have the wall space for the electric oven, I'll do a MW/Electric oven combo.

Thoughts?
