Halloween Buffet Decor

As promised here is a pic of the buffet in my sunroom, I usually decorate it for each Holiday. I made the glass totem with the cat in it, the gourd ghost came from a craft sale, the pic and poem from a vintage "Ideals" magazine, the cloche from a garage sale. I think my favorite thing is the mice cut-outs that I taped inside the lamp shades, creepy. Also there is a pic coming in my back door from the garage. My husband's dead animals are relegated to the garage, anyhoo, I decorate the bar by the back door for each season, fall looks good with the deer.

I did the lampshade thing last Halloween too, but I just had regular Halloween sympbols. I love these mice. I love the little trick-or-treat sillouette too. Everything looks really good. - Gail

Frou, that is delightful. The little ghost wearing a sweater is a hoot. LOL. Love your totem with the black cat inside, great idea. Along with the lamp mice! Now that is really cool. I've saved the pix for our Halloween Inspiration album.

What a great, festive display. I love the Mice sillouettes too. I'm going to 'steal' that idea!! :) That gourd ghost is adorable and I also love the vintage picture, and just about everything else. I'm sure your kids must get a real kick out of it too.
    I really enjoyed this...Thanks.

OK, first of all I want your buffet! I love antique oak pieces, and that is a beauty! I try to decorate my antique kitchen cabinet for each season, too. I really like the way you used the material as a backdrop. Cute idea! All of the Halloween things make me smile!

Very cute! ;o) I think my favorite is the vintage print/poem and the gourd ghost--love his little sweater. I like the mice inside the lampshade too--clever way to use them. The fall arrangement really makes the deer head blend right in to the decor. TFS. Luvs

Oh, I love your decs . . . especially the mouse cutouts! What a cute idea! I take it the "Ideals magazine pic & poem" that you're talking about is the silhouette pic? It's wonderful! Did you find it online?

Thanks guys, ya'll are so sweet. Slinkey, our son is grown and gone, but loved the holiday decorating when he was young, Cindylouhoo, I've had the buffet about 20 years, it was black and had newspapers glued to the top before DH refinished it. Lynn, I've collected the "Ideals" for years, from estate sales and such. They span from the 30's to the 70's and cover every holiday and have the most beautiful pics. Take a look at ebay they show a lot of pics.

Syble, thanks for sharing your decoration pics! What a nice display you have created on your buffet table. I really like the lamps with the mice, great touch! The bit of burlap and the checkered scarf make a terrific background to everything. I think the brown colours in your arrangement under the deer really tie everything together.
