GE Monogram Automatic Icemaker = too much ice??

We have a built in icemaker - GE Monogram Model ZDIC150 - sounds like a weird problem to have, but it is making too much ice. I am having to empty ice every single day. This morning, it was so full, ice fell out on the floor. My bigger fear is that it will cause a motor or something to burn out.

Of course, it's not under warranty - over one year old, but not much. I was hoping I could receive some free advice here before calling the repairman. On the trouble shooter page, there's no mention of that type of problem happening.

Have you tried to turn it off? Look in the manual. There is usually a control or switch that you can move to turn it off.

Does it have a lever or floaty thingy that is supposed to tell it when it's full? Maybe it got bent or dislodged...

Thanks to both of you. We cut the power off for 1 minute (which the GE people said would allow it to re-set.) We're going to keep an eye on it.

fori, the manual says that it comes with an ice level sensor that will shut the icemaker off when bin is full. There is a narrow white tubing that is attached to the right side of the icemaker. I'm wondering if the sensor is installed incorrectly or has gone bad. If it continues, I guess we'll have to call a repairman out (minimum service call is $85-$95.)
