We had resigned ourselves to replacing our old Jenn-Air downdraft range in our island with a new Jenn-Air downdraft range. We cannot install a hood vent over the island, nor can we locate a separate oven elsewhere in the kitchen. The only option is to install a full range in the island. I was certain that no retractable downdraft was able to be installed behind a full range except for Dacor downdrafts behind Dacor ranges. I was hopeful that the KitchenAid downdraft with reversible blower motor would work, but was informed by two separate shops and KitchenAid customer service that it would not.

That brings us to yesterday, when my wife and I went on an historic homes tour in our area and, lo and behold, we came across a full slide-in range installed in an island with a retractable downdraft sitting right behind it! The range was a Wolf but I do not know the brand of the downdraft. Does anyone know what downdraft this could have been? Thanks!
