Karen, that is very nice, I do that sometimes when I am "showcasing" little desserts like cupcakes.

yes, I saw that at this blog awhile back. I, too, thought it was very pretty.
judithva,

Here is a link that might be useful: A picture is worth a thousand words

That really looks nice, and so simple, too! I'll have to try that sometime...

I love it... I am just starting to really decorate my house...(rental)... We lost our home about 2 years ago due to hubby's job shutting down... not wanting to be in a rental had me not doing anything special to it to make it a home.. but since I came back to this site has inspired me to make my rental a home.... I love decorating and entertaining... I have enjoyed reading and seeing everyones ideas... with money tight I love ideas that are useful in different ways...

Missy, I'm so sorry you lost your own home and are renting.
But reading how you have become inspired to decorate and make it a home really made my day! I am so happy you found this Forum and want to enjoy decorating again.
You Go, Girl....we'll support you all the way.

hugs, Karen

Missy, we lived in rentals for many years--until DH got out of the military and then even a few years after that. Some of the places were pretty sad. I always ended up painting and trying to fix them up a bit. A few times, I had landlords who appreciated my efforts and even helped a bit.

You know if you wait for everything to be perfect, you will be waiting your life away. What is that saying? Something like "Life is what happens while we are waiting for our future". Don't let that happen to you, go ahead and use your pretty things and make each place you live as pleasant a home as you can possibly make it. Take lots of pictures too--someday you will look back and realize those were "the good times". ;o)

I'm glad you are enjoying this forum too, and glad it is making you feel excited about making things pretty in your home. Your DH will enjoy it too, and he will be glad you are happy and making the best of it.
