'Twenty' Dollar Tree strikes again

Hey Shee, I thought of you when I stopped in Dollar Tree this afternoon. I went in to get two more Fall piks, and as normal for me, spent $20 there!

They have Xmas stuff out. Lots of sparkly balls in gold and silvers. So I'm thinking, Shee needs to be here to buy 'stuffing' for her tree. LOL. I bought two packs of balls, 7 in each pack. I got them in silver, tho they had gold also. And then I got other Xmas sparkly ornies, including PURPLE ones, and some wide Xmas ribbon.

(thanks a lot Judith, I thought of YOU too!!!) LOL

I hope I've enabled.....errrrr, helped....someone the way Judith has help me.

hugs, Karen

Karen, the first part of the 12 step program is to accept responsbility for your actions. I had never been in a Dollar store before this forum, but now can't seem to pass the Dollar Tree without planting many dollars...lol

I also went in Dollar Tree today---to pick up ONE more of the orangy fall leaves garland things. Well, they didn't have them and did I leave---of course not.

I just happened to find $28 more of Christmas things I just couldn't live without! Then hit a church thrift store and found another $40 worth of Christmas stuff. By the time I stopped at several Goodwills, my trunk was full, but I have some really cool new holiday things! I found a lot at Goodwill today that was NEW in packages.

Hey Printersdevil, you know we love pics of purchases. I'd love to see pics of all your goodies. Luvs

Printer, you made me feel better. LOL. And sounds like you got some great stuff, hope you have a camera and can show us what all you bought.

Kathleen, you are so right about "the first part of the 12 step program is to accept responsbility for your actions".
And I certainly think those on here....you know who you are...should step right up NOW and take responsibility for what they did. LOL. I'd never been in a dollar store either till this Forum.

Purplemoon - Believe it or not I've already been ther! :) Found some big white feather like balls with silver beads on them. Thought they had potential so I bought 7 of them. I picked up a bunch of smaller silver balls at a thrift store over the weekend. I'm going to be heading back to the dollar store soon though in hopes they get more stuff out!

Karen, did you happen to see the cute little Halloween candle holders? My son stopped there for batteries last nite & came home with two of them for me. (have I got the family trained or what????? LOL)

They look like Phantom of the Opera Masks, but are skeleton heads that are open in the back for a small votive. They are so cute on my table...

Well, as you know, I'm not doing xmas, but I will enjoy seeing all of your great decor pics!

Hey Karen, you aren't the only one, I just went to my dollar store (extra big one) they had out Christmas stuff too and spent way too much money. In fact they had the large large plastic snowflakes again this year, so if anyone was wanting them go to your Dollar store soon before they are all gone!

Karen and Printer, sounds like you got your "dollar's" worth! I sure wish we had a good Dollar Store. The one here is "small town" and is independently owned and operated so is not connected to any chain like Dollar Tree, etc. I always have to wait until I go to the "big city" to find the kind of true DOLLAR prices.

oh boy - I guess I need to get to my local Dollar Tree - we have two - one is pretty large and one is in an old Winn Dixie supermarket and is HUGE. I always manage to 'plant' a few bucks at either one. Would love to pictures of all these goodies.....

Gosh, how did we ever survive before the Dollar stores? LOL, I am always going in there with my grown up DD and saying, Not fair, I could have gotten you soooo much more for your Christmas stockings if we had a Dollar store "back-in-the-day" LOL Of course, she rolls her eyes.

Karen, we can just do an... I went shopping alert each time. I like seeing things people buy, and sometimes I put them away and forget to show them if I don't do it right away...
So shop and shoot, and post!

I agree with kathleen about the alert. I've found so many great deals as of late and am so excited. There should be a conversation side to this forum so we can put OT stuff. I didn't post the pics because it's not all holiday related. Still exciting.

Stopped at a different dollar tree last night and bought some silver ornaments. I really need to start looking for some nice blue ones or my tree will be mainly silver!

    Hello everyone,
I have a question. From time-to-time I notice people make reference to the "conversation side" of the forum. What does that mean and where do you go to locate it?
    OA

We don't have it on Holidays, but if you look on Home Deco, up at the top you will see it. Some forums have Gallery up there too.

On-Topic Discussions [Switch to: Gallery : Exchanges : Conversations]
That's what it looks like, OA

Actually I kind of like being able to post everything here.
On my GJ Forum, a lot of folks forget to check the conversations side. And during the off seasons here, we need the dishes and other stuff to keep this Forum going and fun. Probably this time of year, most purchases ARE Holiday related anyway. I stopped at GW today when I passed right it on an errand. My mini van just turned right into that parking lot....go figure. LOL.
I found a couple of cute Halloween things, and one Xmas item. I've got to take pictures of all the recent purchases. Will do that soon. You other lil' shoppers, please do the same!!

    hugs, Karen

I agree, just post pics of your finds anytime, we all love to see them. And let's face it, the holidays are so spread out that if we didn't do our "finds", "tables", etc. on here it would get really boring!

I really like seeing the great things all of you find, and it serves as a reminder to me that I might just want to stop at one of my local stores to look for one for me too.

I love the picture aspect of the forum. It is so hard to visualize what you are talking about if there aren't pictures. I use them for inspiration and just flat out enjoy seeing what others do. I know on other forums I miss a lot because I forget to go over to the gallery and almost never get onto the conversations part. Keep the pictures coming :) .....

I have been many times this past 2 weeks...let me make you want to go. I got wire trees with bells on bottom. 3 different kinds of metal trees for shelves. lots of ribbon, spirals with bells on them, rusty bells on cord for door knobs, a few clear snowflakes, a cute fairy, some tin picture frames, some bells with wire around them and snowman heads, many fall flowers and leaves, red wire stars, leather barbed wire...oh and I am sure I forgot some things.... We have Dollar Tree, 99c stores, 98cent stores and a lot of misc stores like that...some things are just really trash but some stuff is great

Hey, Twomonths, great to see you over here! I'm glad you've been out doing some fun shopping, I know you've had a really rough year. Hope you will join in here with us often, lots of good "enablers here and they're really a sweet bunch of ladies too. ;o)

It sounds like you found lots of treasures. I stopped at my closest Dollar Tree today, but just couldn't make a decision on Christmas items--just not ready to think Christmas yet I guess--but I KNOW it all goes soooo fast!

I ended up getting four round red placemats and a cute little bluebird--kept wondering if I needed some of those big snowflakes or not.

Hi there, Two. Good to see you here. Apparently we need to teach Luvs a thing or two about shopping at these "Twenty" Dollar stores. She didn't do so good.
    LOL

    Hi Two!

Luvs, you should have at least bought 2, one for dgd and yourself and then have a little snowman lunch or tea.
You need Karen or me there to shop with you!

I found the CUTEST ribbon in Costco or one of the clubs, with snowmen faces. I am having fun making things with it.
It will go with my CVS snowmen plates I got after Christmas last year for 38 cents? And I see them for 3.50 each and more now...Can't wait to do a table, but has to be Dec for that! Now if I can find the snowflakes I bought last year!!
