dacor wall oven

Hi,

Have had Dacor wall electric convection oven (top of line...don't have model # handy...all I know is that it was the most expensive one out there last summer.) Installed last august. Awesome till now...woke up this morning to the vent fan (below oven door) blowing louder than ever, and the display panel went dark and nothing would work. We had to cut power to it from the circuit box to make it stop. Upon restoring power, it SEEMS good as new. What's the deal?? Any info would be great. Should I call for service? PS- we used the oven last night to bake. All seemed normal!

Maybe a small power surge? See how it works, hopefully, everything will be all right.

The controller board on this oven will go bad over time. Ours did. Symptoms weren't the same as yours but like yours, it would be OK after a reset for a while.

If the unit is under warranty, call them and insist on them changing the controller board. If it is not under warranty, then pray that it doesn't happen again. Otherwise, your wallet will be $400 lighter :).

Thanks. It has now seemingly completely died. Just randomly started blowing from underneath again last night around midnight. I once again shut down the circuit. Starting the circuit, however, did not "fix" it this time. The control panel is black and the blower did not stop for anything. So now it's shut down at the circuit for the weekend. We are well within warranty still, and I will call on Monday. It's madness. I think I have used it 20 times TOPS since I got it nine months ago. What is also killing me it that we have a pending service call on our Thermador Pro Harmony AG range, as the broiler stopped working a couple of weeks ago. Not a good feeling to have over 10K worth of cooking appliances malfunctioning simultaneously...UGH!!!
