This smoothtop electric range is on clearance at my Sears (was ordered and refused) for $430, and it's stainless. Whirlpool. Not rated by Consumer Reports:

This one is the CR best buy, but the cooktop surface is speckled, and I prefer the look of the solid black cooktop on the Whirlpool. But this has more features (self-clean, dual size burner). On sale for $500 right now:
