Project using chalkboard paint

I tried using chalkboard paint on one of my little metal trays. I think it will be cute to use on an easel on the kitchen counter or table. Forgive the chalky appearance, my eraser belonged to little GD and it didn't do a very good job. Luvs

Luvs, I love your new tray. Love the idea of using the chalkboard paint on one, but I have to say that what really "makes" your tray is your painting designs. Another idea I would love to do.

Luvs, great use of the chalkboard paint but I agree with Sandi. What you have added to it from your own talents really takes it up a notch! You can leave little love-notes for your DH on it! LOL!

I can just see it now in the kitchen with the dinner menu written on it! It is Darling!

Gosh, you ladies sure make a gal feel good. ;o) I'd been wanting to try out the chalkboard paint for awhile now.

Kathleen, the can says it works on wood, metal, plastic, etc. I did spray my tray with primer first. One idea I've seen is to buy a framed oil painting at the TS and then use the primer and chalkboard paint over the picture then reinsert in the frame. My girlfriendd said HGTV used it on a refrigerator door even!

DD, I'm sure DH and I will come up with all kinds of "messages" to leave on it for each other. We've been married 42 years, so more into the "funny" messages now than the "romantic" I think! LOL

Betty, I usually don't "know" the menu until we decide we are hungry and I pop my head in the freezer to see what our options are! Not much pre-planning around here anymore since we are both retired now. I can see where it would be good for that though.

I just thought it would be a fun project to try, and something cute to decorate the counter or table. Glad you all enjoyed seeing my efforts.

Hey, I've tried using the Tintable Chalkboard Paint and it works like wonders. I hope you try this too.
