toilet seats.., uncomfortable

I got the new Kohler Memoirs elongated comfort height toilet. It was not inexpensive but the seat seems cheap, plastic and uncomfortable. The elongated bowl seems so large too. Anyone else have this toilet? Anyone ever change your toilet seat to something more comfortable, if so, what did you get?

I've changed my toilet seats many times. Some toilets don't even come with a toilet seat and you need to buy one. I loved the blue toilet seat I once had on a crisp white toilet. It worked well with the room.

Changing the toilet seat is very easy. You should just need a wrench. If you place your hand under the flange of the toilet which has the fasteners / screws which hold the toilet seat to the toilet. If you feel up the rod, you should be able to find the nut which holds the threadded screw in place. Some toilet seats are attached from the top. They have two little plastic covers which have tops which pop up. Then you see a screw head there.

Getting a specific toilet seat... I haven't really seen anyone spec those out before. I, myself, am trying to figure out which washlet I want to use to replace my current toilet seats.

Browse your hardware store. Some of them have a whole section on just seats alone.

    best wishes,

We have a Toto Ultramax in the new master bathroom. It has a Toto Washlet seat on it. Naturally, after 26 years anything we sat on is going to feel different but I now prefer the shape of this seat as well as the softness of the plastic. It's more flat and a bit wider than the older toilet seat that is harder and more narrow and rounded.

We changed out the seats on several of our current toilets to the "french contour" shape from Lowes. I have no idea who the manufacturer is. It's a very comfortable seat, and my legs don't go numb when I'm hiding from my kids in there ;)

We recently got this toilet seat also and it is the most uncomfortable seat i have ever sat on. It’s the 3999 elongatrd seat. I want to switch to a more comfortable seat. This one curves inward And feels hard when you sit. Does anyone have a better seat?

I'm a bit persnickety when it comes to things like this and I absolutely hate these cheap plastic seats. This is the seat you want: Mayfair by Bemis Cameron® Model #1841EC 000
