That is beautiful! I personally do not have a pencil tree, but why don't you try to wrap the garland around it to see if you need more, or if you can wrap it in such a way that it would be sufficient. I found a site that said 40 feet of garland would be sufficient for a 7 foot skinny tree, but there were no pictures on how it was wrapped.

Seems to me the simplest thing to do would be to get some string and use it as a garland around your tree, looping and arranging as you go. Take it off, and you'll know exactly how long your felt garland has to be.

What a good tip, OA, never thought of using just string as a guide for how much.

Also Blizlady, good to know about 40 ft being recommended. I've been thinking about buying one of these trees this year. Michaels has had them on sale for $50.
