Thanksgiving table

Thought I'd better get a pic of my table posted tonight otherwise I will get busy tomorrow and forget. This is no where nearly as neat as Tam's, but her's was my inpiration when I found the turkey and wreath for 50% off at Steinmart--used a gift card that I've carried around since last Christmas! The dishes are from one of my sets of china. Have a four year old GD so decided not to do the fancy white tablecloth route this year.

Oh Luvs, I can't enlarge the pic. I can't see much at all, but I sure love the colors you used. Hopefully someone else will reply soon and I'll know if it's just my computer. Oh, I wanta see....

Luvs, very pretty browns, in the placemats & the napkins. Gorgeous wreath & neat turkey & on sale is always a plus!!

What does the sign in front of the turkey say?

Sandi, did you just click on the picture? It worked for me, but I will tell you, I was trying to upload those friends pics to Photobucket earlier & twice my computer locked up, so maybe it's photobucket right now!

    Luvs,

LOVE the colors and the berries and the turkey. It's just right, not overboard. I've GOT to find me a turkey for next year!

I just got it enlarged (I couldn't get it to work last night)! It is so pretty, Luvs. So, that's a wreath around the turkey? I like that very much. Your brown leaf placemats & brown napkins are just perfect. And I love the leaves wrapped around your napkins. Your little GD is going to absolutely love everything. Love your turkey!

Love the turkey and what a good idea to use a wreath. It looks great together and the brown napkins with the leaves are just the right touch. I want to find a big turkey.

It wasn't enough that I had white pumpkin soup bowl envy. Now I have turkey envy!! I love the wreath, and the placemats, and the napkins, and the glas.. shucks, I love it all!
I want to know what the little sign on the front of your turkey says, too.
I know what you mean about the little ones. Mine ate at the bar while the grownups ate at the table. I'm glad my table is next to the bar so we can still be together (sort of).
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi All, sorry I couldn't get on here until now--busy day and I'm waaay too full now! The sign on the turkey says "Time to give thanks". He wasn't the prettiest turkey, but since I had already bought the placemats, I thought he would work well. Yep, just used the wreath around him. The plates show up so white in the picture, but they do have tiny gold flowers around the rim. Had my DIL help me figure out how to turn the flash off on my camera so hopefully I'll be able to take some better pictures in the future. My DIL brought her camera to take pics of family for her scrapbooking--she ended up taking several of the table and the dessert table as well. Guess that was a nice compliment. ;o) Luvs

I, too, like the wreath around the turkey. After seeing the great turkey centerpieces I know what I'll be looking for next year. Beautiful table! Lucky you to have a 4 yr old GD! I look forward to decorating with plastic when my newborn GS gets a little older!

Wonderful - your turkey is perfect! And I love the browns...really great color for the day.

Beautiful, Luvs! Love the brown tablecloth too!
We had 9 little ones yesterday where we were, lots of spills!

That's what I figured Kathleen, and I sure didn't want her getting fussed at if she did spill anything, so I didn't use the white linen tablecloth and napkins I normally use that came from my Aunt. I had lots of loose silk leaves all over the table too, and she was much more interested in collecting those than in eating her food! LOL

DH even seemed to find it was interesting when I was playing with decorating the table this time. I tried using the candle rings I got on sale at Big Lots on the plates with my covered pumpkin bowls, but he didn't like that, so I just did the brown napkins. I had one little leaf shaped votive holder that a friend had given me last year--he said we should have found more of those and set them on the plates--thought they would have been pretty all lighted when we went to sit down to eat. I told him he will just have to start helping me "shop" for things like that for the table! Hmmm, maybe it IS possible to convert a Dish Police to a Dishaholic! LOL

    Luvs,
You have a turkey too!! The wreath looks really great with the turkey. Thats really funny about your DH!! We went to some stores today and DH was giving me his opinions too and convinced me I should buy the set of white plates I had been eying before. :)

Yey, Mo! Now that's a really good thing when they encourage us to buy new dishes! ;o) Luvs

I like your table setting and all the colors you chose. I see you got your Turkey, and I like how you used the wreath with him...hmmm gives me so thought's for mine for next year..lol. We had little ones here, and had several spills. That's why I chose dark plaid this year. I figured I'd go with the flow. I did an overnite soaking, and they came out good as new. It will be a while b/f I use white w/the gkids. I loved the story with your DH...kinda gives us hope with ours!! lol

Thanks, Jane. Mine was kept pretty simple because we always serve the food family style on the table, so have to move the centerpiece. And I had all the desserts and appetizers on the other table so didn't need to include those plates in this setting. It worked out really well for us, and no worries about anything getting messed up. People are more important than things! Right? Especially when they are "little" people. ;o) "Gramma" Luvs

Beautiful Luvs, and yes, little people do make the difference!! I told in another post about having to reset one table to suit a 6 year old...they are way too cute, and much more observant than one would think!
DH's notice more than we may give them credit for as well!
Hope you had a wonderful day!
