Not building after all :(

Well ... It looks like we're probably going to be purchasing an existing home instead of building a new one. Sadly, it looks like there are a lot of other areas we need to focus on, and we just don't need the stress of building a big, expensive house right now. However, we've badly outgrown our current home, and have looked at a few for sale. There's one in particular that we're strongly considering.

We have a beautiful 10 acre parcel that we still hope to build on one day, though. We're going to hold onto it and see what a few more years will bring. Plus, we already have these wonderful plans :)

I want to thank everyone here for all your help and advice. I'm excited to watch all of your homes as they go up!

:( Aww, sorry to hear that - I'm sure that is not an easy choice to swallow but it sounds like the best one. At least you still have your property and your plans so you can embark on that journey when it feels right and is hopefully more of a joy than a strain. Good luck with your home purchase!

Good luck in your house search. You still have the land and plans so you can build at a better time for you.

We had to scrap our plans for building as well. My husband lost his job last year. With 4 kids to feed, we found that it was just more feasible to live in the home we currently are paying a mortgage on. He got a job offer a month after he was let go. We are planning on building at a later date whenever we feel that our funds are more readily available and he has been at his current job for more than 2 years. Good luck on your search.
