I have a similar question for ovens -- I may buy an old Viking range that is 30 inches deep -- will this look awful???

Well I'm waiting for the new Samsung myself - it's hundreds cheaper than the LG, Jenn Air, or Maytag models and it has 25 cubic feet. It has dual compressors. And JD Powers gave it high marks as did Consumer Reports. For me it's no contest if I can can counter depth for less than most companies charge for regular depth. I actually like counter depth - easier to see and stuff doesn't get stuck in the back. I wish my husband didn't insist on ice in the door but I can live with it. I have a full size fridge in a cabinet area and I can't stand how it sticks out. It also limits walking space in the most used path in our kitchen. So your mileage may very but I definitely want a counter depth.

I've been following the threads on counter depth french door fridges, and it seems you are the source for the rumor that there will be a new CD FD Samsung. You mentioned that Fry's actually gave you a piece of paper describing that new product. Could you please scan it and share it with us? Thanks.

I am really interested in the Samsung CD French door with ice and water in the door if it will actually be available. I second Dingosurf's request Britt. Can you share any specifics.
In the water and ice in the door thread I previously posted, I just relayed today's news that Kitchenaid will put out a CD French door model with ice and water in the door. I was quoted 2,475 before tax. However it is only 20cubic feet and DH says way too small. After speaking with the salesman today and reading previous posts, I know that CD is the only option for me since I can't deal with 6 inches plus the door sticking past the counter.
If JD and Consumer Reports gives their stamp of approval I am sold on a Samsung due to the space.
