Dinner for Ten

Here are the pics of my table from Saturday night's dinner party. We had the best time. The menu started with spiced pecans, spinach/artichoke dip, venison summer sausage and cheese, a marintated shrimp tree, and dates stuffed with pecans and wrapped in bacon. We served a layered salad, rolls, smoked pork loin with cranberry relish, twice baked potatoes, oyster/wild rice casserole, glazed carrots, spiced peaches, and pickles. Dinner ended with coffee with Godiva white chocolate liquer in dark chocolate cordials and caramel flan with with white chocolate petit fours. I sent everyone off with a goody bag which included spiced peaches, gingerbread man cakelets, home-made pickles and a hand made ornament. DH and I make everything from scratch, but it is so worth it. I'm afraid the table scape paled in comparison to the food. I do like my new square plates I got last year and I found the holly napken rings a TS last week all for a quarter, the mercury glass pine cones came from the TS also. We love entertaining and had a blast.

Your table is lovely, I am definately coveting those green glasses. I like that you used the croceted (spelling) placemats. The holly dishes are great too, it is such a timeless pattern. And of course, last but not least the food sounds wonderful, I am drooling here!

Beautiful! What a wonderful way to treat your guests to a scrupmtious meal in a festive setting. The goodie bag was frosting on the cake. Love the green tablecloth and goblets, a nice change from the typical red.

Lovely table, the square plates really make it beautiful! Menu sounds wonderful!!I love dates & pecans!! Bro. sent me 22 quarts of pecans last yr. I better love them!! He has property in Tx. he bought & was surprised to find it had 3 pecan trees 1 kind short nuts & fat nutmeats, 2nd regular type, on it. Trees are close to water so he doesn't even have to water. What a beautiful table! The snowy white crocheted placemats and napkins so Christmasy against the dark green tablecloth. The forest green glasses look so pretty on the holly plates. Such classic beauty, they will never go out of style. The holly napkin rings are darling! The gold flatware and chargers really lend an elegance to the table.

I like the fluffy white garland on your tree. It looks like snow piled on the branches.

Your menu sounds delicious! The goodie bag a nice idea, and I really love that you made everything yourselves.

Thanks for all the sweet comments. Garden2, that fluffy white garland on my tree is just fine tulle netting that I draped and stuffed in it.
