I have an Amana bottom freezer fridge. The water filter was due to be replaced. I unscrewed the old filter and with some difficulty put in the new filter, closed the casing around the filter, waited a few minutes. No water is being dispensed. I waited longer. Still no water. I took out the filter, put on the bypass cap, and waited a bit more. No water. I moved the ice in the freezer to trick the icemaker into coming on. It popped out a few cubes, made the noise it does when drawing water, but I don't think it actually filled with water.

What's going on?? It was not easy getting the filters out and in, and when trying to put the new one in, I pushed against something at the back of the filter casing, which caused a loud beeping noise.

Please rescue me from having to call Amana! Thank you.
