Why would it have an induction cooktop?

The website clearly states they are radiant elements. No induction.

Their dual fuel ranges are gas/electric(radiant).

I am merely looking for a new range .The web site I was looking at did not indicate if the cook top was radiant or induction. Thank you

At the moment there are very few induction ranges available in North America. Diva and possibly Viking come to mind. Very, very, expensive. In addition, there is a good chance that new heavier wiring and an updated electrical panel would also be needed as well as a range hood.

While we all wait for the day of the mass produced and reasonably priced induction range there is the option of installing an induction cooktop and a wall oven. But given the costliness of that as well, I think a portable counter top induction unit and a few compatible pots/pans provide a fun way to learn about induction without spending big money on the larger units that will become much more affordable in a few years.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, guess I'll get the GE profile.

The only induction range on the US market is Diva. There are no unusual electrical requirements as the top and oven have seperate lines. 220 50amp for the top and 220 30amp for the oven. It would be the same hookup if you had a seperate electric self clean oven and a 36 Diva cooktop. Viking only has a 36 rangetop which requires a 60amp service which is highly unusual even for high powered electric cooktops. Yes the range is a little more than the high end duel fuel pro ranges but not by that much.
