Does The Fridge I Need Even Exist????

I'm trying to make my kitchen livable without a complete remodel. That means living with some of the restraints I'm currently faced with, including 44" from the cabinet to the doorway for fridge width. I want the built-in look without really doing so, but I can't stand to lose the space I would with a 36" width. So I really want a french-door/bottom freezer free-standing 42" fridge. Does anyone make one?

Try the Sears web site. Their appliance page has ways of searching for appliances based on multiple desired or required parameters.

The only one I know of that would fit that is a Kitchenaid 42" built-in French Door model. Going above 36" means going built-in or to a pair of somethings, and you don't have room for that -- unless you have another wall and can separate the freezer and the fridge (ex: 30" fridge in that spot and a 30" freezer on another wall).
