Small Upstairs Tree

This tree is in the upstairs hall where my Gkids sleep when they come over. They enjoy the teddy bears (yes I had Teddy Bear Mania) and the fact that some of the decorations were gifts from kids that I had in my classes. Also, nice memories.

What a great idea! Bet the grandkids love it. I'm seeing lots of teacher type ornaments on there--all the ornaments are so colorful and cute. I'd say you DO have a few teddy bears! LOL

Reminds me of a cute story. A lady behind me in line at a store had her cart full of bear ornaments. She was running late decorating cause she had a battle the previous year with her kids not helping her decorate and taking off all the holidays. So she put her tree up just after Thanksgiving and put not one thing on it. When they complained, she said we are having a bare tree this year. So she was headed home to put her bears on her bare tree. All the people waiting in the long lines really got a kick out of her story.

Jane, I love your upstairs tree too. You have the perfect ornaments on it and all the little bears are so cute sitting by the tree.

Twomonths, I love your bear story. I should do that this year. LOL

You have a lot of cute ornaments and do you have bears. Any kid would love that. My girls use to have the same bears that are sitting on the dog tin.

What a delightfully cute corner - the bears look very content sitting under that tree. I bought and/or handmade many teacher ornaments over the years for my kids to give - hope they appreciated them as much as you do - thanks for sharing .....

Jane, thats so cute! I went through a phase a few years ago when I loved teddy bears and would have them around my room - even I cant imagine how it must have looked to my friends!! When my college friends visit my house now, they are always surprised that I actually have grown-up decor now. I still have a couple but they dont know that. LOL.

Thanks everyone..glad you like the tree and my 'Furry Friends' !

twomonths..cute story, I've got to keep that one in mind.

dd50...those bears that your daughters had, came out one year as a Christmas Family Bear set. My DD gave them to me. She enjoyed the fact that I collected them.

kathleen...actually the original tree for the kids was a 4'..but then, over time, I needed a larger one. I think the larger the tree, the more you add to it!! lol

lynn...I always enjoyed all the ornaments that I received over the years..even more so now, as I remember the kids who gave them to me as well. I just went to a wedding of on of them last April. His mother & I are good friends.

mo.. I think there's still a kid in all of us, esp when it comes to teddy bears. Whenever I see one in a store, that's 'connecting' with me...I have to walk by very fast...cause I really don't need to bring home anymore!! lol
It's nice tho that you still have some.

What a delightful tree, and all the bears...just makes me smile and want to sit right down there with them. Another photo for our album too!

My daughter (in her 40s now) buys a Xmas bear every year and puts them in a vignette. I love it. And her MIL, who has a stairway, decorates it with a bunch of little bears all up one side. At the landing, there is a small tree with more bears done like yours. It is really cute.

How can anyone resist a teddy bear!
    hugs, Karen

Karen, not me! I decided to buy DIL one of those faux fur throws for Christmas, and right next to them was a big bin of stuffed animals with this darling curly haired beige bear with a little brown bow that just looked perfect with the dark fur throw. I decided it had to be packaged with the throw and I'd tell her it was her Boo boo bear to cuddle with on days when her back hurt or she had a cold. Besides it will look so sweet sitting on the throw on the sectional even when not in use! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL
