Maytag Extended Service Plans, aka Maytag Dependability Plus, is one choice and they cover all brands. Be sure to thoroughly read and understand the contract terms.

Thanks, I was looking more for an all around service that would take care of appliances from different manufactures.

We used squaretrade.com for after-market warranties for several appliances in our kitchen as well as for a washer and dryer in a rental property. I believe you have to get a squaretrade warranty within 90 days of the purchase date. Squaretrade is significantly cheaper than similar warranties and gets very good reviews, plus I can always find a coupon code on-line that will lower the price even more (try "thirty30"). We haven't yet had to call on squaretrade because nothing has gone wrong with any of our appliances, so I can't speak from personal experience about service from the company. Good luck.

Here is a link that might be useful: Squaretrade warranties

    jjaazzy,

You apparently didn't look at the site I linked. As I stated above, the Maytag service covers all brands, not just Maytag. I had service plans through Maytag Dependability Plus on a Fisher & Paykel washer & dryer. You can buy a plan there online. If your brand is not listed, select Unknown. There doesn't appear to be a restriction on date of purchase.

I feel like I'm meeting all the warranty applicance repair companies in Atlanta. I've had a few issues under warranty with my Kitchen Aid convection oven & refrigerator & Sharp Microwave Drawer -- no huge show stoppers. When I call the KA 800 repair line they have referred me to 3 local companies to do the work. I believe several of these are franchises or at least regional companies.

For my KA Convection Oven (bad convection motor) KA referred me to A&E Factory Service (800-771-8029). When I called A&E to look at my refrigerator (cracked condensation pan) they only repaired refrigerators in my area on Saturdays, thus when I received a date 3 weeks out. I then called KA repair line. They passed my repair along to Appliance Doctor. Sharp seems to use a local company, Norman Electronics. All have been professional, courteous & helpful answering my questions & following up when a part was ordered.

I hope this is the information you needed.

I like buying through Lowes, 4 year extended warranty. I think GE runs it. They also, gave me an option to extend it past the 5 years and ended up with 6 years on the KA dishwasher. It broke at 5.5 years and cost about 800 dollars to fix! Yipeeee!!!!

I don't know about the US, but in Canada Miele has a promotion for the month of Sept which provides their 10yr warranty for free. Presuming you're willing to buck up for the Miele premium to begin with, that's some pretty decent peace of mind.
