If you are doing a calacatta porcelin tile, don't do real calacatta for countertops. The tile will not look real next to the countertops. Go with a white or grey quartz.

This Cambria Quartz: Castell is a nice match to carrera/calacatta porcelin tile. It has white & grey combined with small flecks of blue crystal that really come out under halogen lights

Nick, I have the samples of the Porcelanosa tile at my home right now. I am trying to decide between the carrara porcelanosa or this calcata vida dolce. I am hoping for a warmer feel with the calcata. Am planning to call the tile store in Nashville. Have you used any of these products?

I am starting a bath remodel next month where I am using both the porcelanosa carrara floor & wall tiles (shower) I am also using a porcelanosa stacked stone for portions of the wall & the tub surround. For countertops it will be chroma: thassos quartz (this was the whitest I could find) The reason behind Carrara vs. Calacatta for this project was for letting the stacked stone really stand out. I am also using a drifted oak vanity (with clean lines) to complete the whole rustic modern look.

Hi Nick, thank you for your info. I am working on the tile selection for a master bath using the Porcelanosa carrara for the wall tiles shower. Have not decided on floor due to concern of the larger tiles and slippage, so thinking of more of a small (possibly) natural stone mosaic floor. I am also doing a drifted oak cabinetry (seen in a Restoration Hardware catalogue as a stand alone vanity). I have a white washed wood ceiling. I live in southern california and saw the Porcelanosa showroom with the carrara, that sold me. Looks real. I am going for a more traditional style, and am looking for a designer to help me. I am using a restoration hardware vanity as well (French Casement). I bought it over their friends and family event for 20% off. I like the mixing of styles, so I am using white quartz with Kohler Purist fixtures on the vanity.
