For me there is. I color my hair and I tend to get that stuff everywhere no matter how hard I try to just hit my head. LOL!

But seriously, there are plenty of grooming products that could possibly etch your marble. It just depends on what you use and how messy you are, just like in a kitchen.

Yeah you should be careful with the chemicals you are using because it can make your bathroom messy the color is difficult to clean and sometimes it becomes stain.

I etched a hotel's black marble bath counter just by laying down my toothbrush with a bit of toothpaste on it. So be warned.

Interesting - so marble is really not a great choice for durablity then. Great to look at but stains easily just like in the kitchen. Guessing granite, etc is better option.

In my master bathroom I have polished dark Emperador marble on the counter and a band of it going around the top of the wainscot behind the clawfoot tub; the floors, wainscot and shower walls are polished marble 12x12s in a light taupe (no name, picked it up on clearance for $1/sf - I couldn't pass it up). We completed construction 5 years ago and staining has not been a problem. My counters do have several etched areas that I try not to let drive me crazy. Considering the price we paid for the marble and the fact that the room is heavily used daily with hair spray, perfume, make up, and cleaning products I'd say it still looks really nice. I've read that I could have the marble refinished by a pro to restore the etched spots and may do that in a few years. Marble has been used in Hotels and throughout Europe for hundreds of years (actually if you think about the Greeks and Romans, it's thousands of years). I like to think of it as 'patina' or signs of a life well lived LOL. Get what you love and what fits your budget!
