My main, downstairs area is an upside-down "L" shape. The formal area is in the front with two story ceilings. The back of the house is the kitchen, breakfast nook, and TV room in a straight line. When you walk in the front door, you are in the main/formal area but can see the back wall of the kitchen/breakfast area.

I want to paint the formal area BM revere pewter but would like to paint the kitchen/TV room a different color. I thought a silvery-blue would look nice but it just looks too blue. I'm afraid if I go more silvery, it won't contrast enough against the point where it meets revere pewter. I'm open to any color really. I do like blue, brown, yellow and grays.

Any suggestions?
