Installing the latest Adobe Flash Player

I have tried and tried to install Adobe Flash Player. It gives me the message "Version 10.0.22.87 installed successfully" but everytime I go to a site I get a message that it requires the latest Adobe Flash Player. Anyone else had that problem and solved it?

you might try going to the page below and download the uninstaller to your desktop or somewhere where you will be able to find it,,
then close all your browser windows...
run the program so it will Unintall Flash Player !

Then after a reboot, go back to adobe.com and reinstall it fresh.

Here is a link that might be useful: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

did you install it for the correct browser? there is one for each type of browser and each has to have it downloaded and installed, so if you use IE make sure you are getting the IE version downloaded same for firefox etc. then go back to the flash page and it will demonstrate for you which is installed and if it plays the animation it was successful.

So it is clear, you have to be using the specific browser for the mutually specific Flash Player when you upgrade it. For example, you cannot upgrade FF while using IE.

I just uninstalled Flash, then did a pretty good search of all things adobe/macromed/flash in the registry and files. Saw parts installed both in IE8, which is my default browser, & in Firefox also - which I seldom run.

Its doubful I have ever installed flash in firefox, no reason to ... yet it was there.
Actually I hate flash & adobe's less than humble ways of their bold sneaky intrusions into my life. Plus all those dang advertisements.
