That's quite a feat! We're just wrapping up a ~ 6x11 bath and have a ~ 8x8 to do someday and I applaud your determination to get 2 sinks in that size space.

Re "tunnel effect": are you done-done except for mirror and lights or just done with layout? If the former, I personally think 2 preferably [oval or round] mirrors and sets of lights helps break up the impression of aisle-squeeze. If the latter there may be some other tricks you can add.

I know some might argue a single mirror/light set would streamline, but in our long narrow bath we ditched a set up enough like that to inform my opinion. The wall space between your mirrors would help move the eye around the room more.

Good luck!

I love your comments house-vixen. We're done with layout, plumbing, and the shower curb. Is there time to add your tricks? BTW, the vanity sits between two walls - and at either end of the vanity there will be a recessed custom cabinet. I was thinking frosted glass doors for the cabinets (to avoid heavy wood or too much mirror). Do you think these cabinets might create the wall space and eye movement you mentioned? Thanks so much. This is quite a process!

Hi Aard --

Just have a minute but yes, I think using some kind of glass in those cabinets would be *great* -- reeded, frosted, or any kind of decorative.

Not sure if you are doing a tile or wood wainscot in the non-shower area, but doing that and pairing it with some kind of liner or detailing that zips the eye around can help -- ditto for doing that on the floor with a tile border (if you are tiling the floor!).

You can search on "small bath" here on the Bathrooms Forum (or my name) because I think there were some threads where I and others tried to brainstorm a bit.

Got to scoot, but just posted my nearly-done reno -- you can take a look and see if anything appeals.
