I painted my hall bathroom a medium shade of lemon yellow (accent color of navy) to brighten it up as the only natural light is from a skylight. The hallway and the rest of the living area is painted 'African Violet', a dusky, medium shade of violet.

A decorator came to measure for shades and saw the bathroom. I could tell she was aghast at the color. She politely recommended that a muted yellow (yellowish/gold) might coordinate better with the violet. I really liked the color initially, but now have no confidence and feel I've made a mistake and should repaint according to her suggestion.

Before I take on such a task, I thought I would get input from others. I would attach a picture, but don't see an option to do so. I could email the pic if anyone is interested in seeing actual colors.
