No, it can look fine to mix finishes. I have ORB sconces, a verdigris chandelier, chrome faucets, and brushed nickel knobs on my vanity.

There are others here on the forums that have done the same. I also had this question when I started my remodel.

Totally agreeing with GirlCat -- My boys' bathroom has stainless steel sinks, brushed chrome faucets, old rubbed bronze lights, black & gold mirrors, chrome trim on the shower doors...

A picture is worth a thousand words... that looks totally fine with the mixture - very attractive. I probably would have been more hesitant to mix them up but it truly looks quite nice.(and please, feel free anyone to post more)

I too have a mix of finishes. I love looking at models homes in my area and I can tell you that they always mix finishes. The main thing is too keep a similar style (i.e. all traditional, all rustic, all modern).

That's it, exactly!
You do that well and nothing else needs to 'match' --

houseful got it right....style and line are most important. Think of coordinating instead of matching.
