If you can find them, I would check out thrift stores or Goodwill stores for old models of Crock pots. Rivel is an excellent brand. I have 2 Rivels. Both were wedding presents for my husband and I 33 years ago. They are still working great! We do have a newer Cuisinart digital SS crock pot. It works fine, has the removable ceramic dish for easy cleaning(as does the old models of mine), looks sharp and cooks well. It does seem to run a bit hot at times. I just prefer the old ones. 2 knobs, high and low. Don't have to worry about overly high heat, etc. NancyLouise
