Pic2Pat.com, who loves it?

I just discovered the site and have had fun this afternoon downloading pic files that can be translated into cross stick patterns. My mind is reeling with ideas!

Question: once you input stitches per inch and size of work, why does the program produce several versions? They look almost identical to me, so I don't get it. If somebody knows, pls explain. thanks.

Please don't use pic2pat. I recently converted a beautiful beach scene with blue skies and sandy beaches. Then I bought $90 worth of aida and $50 of recommended thread. I couldn't start to wait this wonderful project. Unfortunately the colours that pic2pat recommended were ALL WRONG - lots of greys and browns! I will never use this site again and advise everyone to steer clear.

Old post but the reason you get so many versions is because it gives you color amount options. If you hover over the different versions, it will give you the number of colors used.
