I do my hole punch first, I use either an awl or an old ice pick to make my holes, then file the edges down so they are safe.

THanks for your reply. Do they do well at craft shows? Do you do your hole on the 'lip' (scallopy side) or further up (closer to the 'top")? I have a very small hole punch and I can punch on the scallopy side but don't know if it is too close if I put any findings on the end that it may wear away. I also see alot with licensed characters.. is it okay to use them? Thanks. I just thought that the jewelry was really cute and wanted to make some but they seem so easy if I make some, I mght as well make a bunch -- hugs!
