Interesting article

Interesting to me, anyway. I have never had any business dealings with any of the national builders. I have always assumed that the multiple layers of upper management would make downturns in business very difficult. Laying off framers does not reduce the expense higher up the management ladder. Some economies do come with larger scale operations, but I have assumed that they could not beat the prices of a local small builder. A local contractor can start doing other types of jobs, such as rehabs, and keep most of his crews together. Getting "big" increases some vulnerabilities.
