peom needed and record bowls

what can I put on the label of a record bowl to make it waterproof and food safe? Also, how do I fill in the hole?

Making darnit dolls, but the poem is really too much for my audience. How about a bashing barney or something like that? Wish I could do poems, but I am useless in that way.

What exactly is the poem that you have now?

here is the poem for the dolls

Whenever things don't go so well...
And you want to hit the wall and yell...
    Here's a little dammit doll
    That you can't do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs
And find a place to slam it
And as you whack the stuffing out
    Yell, "DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT!"

I googled mod podge and discovered it can get gooey when wet. Maybe I should just use clear sealant on the record label. Only use it for dry food, nothing hot or wet.

    Thanks

    Just an FYI
I have plenty of records at home, but I found a Donny Osmond when he was a kid alone, a Barry Manilow very young, and a Frank Sinatra/Rosemary Clooney Xmas album. (I am near Cincinnati, Rosemary's hometown). How fun is that? They were 99cents apiece -

just changed poem to "dangit". Bought regular spray sealer for records, won't worry about the hole - will mark them to use only dry food, no liquid or hot. Handwash only.

I've seen them called "Slamit" dolls and you would just use slamit instead of dammit. Would rhyme a little better than dangit, don't you think? Good luck with your sales. Luvs

Look for the little wooden 'buttons' that are designed to cover screw holes in wood projects, they come in a variety of sizes. Glue one in, paint it silver to look like the spindle for the record, then seal with foodsafe sealer.

    Dang It Poem

Whenver life is full of stress
And you feel the need to holler
Just get this little 'dang-it' doll,
Grab it tightly by the collar.
    You'll feel frustrations melt away
As on the desk you bang it,
While yelling loudly as you can
    "Dang-it! Dang-it! Dang-it!"

thanks for the poem - I love it - and the ideas for the record hole

I have made 2 or 3 different styles of record bowls. The old 78's are so much more thick than the 33's. I have used the 78's and just barely fluted the edges so it is more of a tray or a plate. The 45's make cute little candy dishes. I have paid as much as 99 cents for some of the 33's.

How much do I charge for these at a craft show? I want to sell them but I know people will say "I can do that".

Also, how much do you charge for darn it dolls?

    Thanks
