Need ideas:

I am making santahat purses for my 3 grandnieces, but don't have any idea what to make for my 7 year old grandnephew.

I was wondering about a wallet or something along that order.

Any ideas?

What's he into? ....cars, trains, planes? Are you trying to make him something functional or are you looking for a keepsake?

I have a 6 yo. He would love a Christmas ornament personalized to his interests. He'd love it even better if I bought the stuff and let him make it. For instance, he'd love all the makings of a train ornament or a space station. He'd also enjoy something decorative for the outdoors. Bells or anything that makes noise like a windchime, a thermometer for checking the temperature, or any thing that moves like windspinners or various yard ornaments that move.

Here's what I've made for one of my GS's (he'll be 7 at Christmas) and it wasn't very expensive to make. I found an old hubcap at a YS (25 cents), got the cars from the Dollar store, and the clock works from WM, used E6000 glue to attach, it's easy to make and it's a cute wall decoration.

First, I would love to know, what is a Santa Hat Purse?
Have you considered making a special pillowcase? I made a Christmas Snoopy pillowcase for my Nephew and he loves it! He actually uses it year round!

Good ideas! The clock is really neat and I think the pilowcase is a fun idea, too. You can really make them to suit any season or anyone's interests - there are so many great materials out there.

Here is a link that might be useful: Holiday Pillowcases

Hi everyone! Registered yesterday and already addicted to this site. Wow, there are alot of creative people here. Any ideas how to use small canisters (film size) would be welcomed.
I have made a great deal of crafts and will post some in the near future.
Looking forward to meeting new friends.

Thanks, Barb, nice to meet you. I cannot believe it took so long to discover this site. One year I made a wreath with a cardboard bottom. (from Pizza) Cut a small hole in center. Glue different cards on and then wrap small boxes like Christmas packages. Glue to cardboard all around in different directions. Attached felt bow and hang on wall or door. Tiny boxes I used are from Aspirin, spices, ointment, well, you get the idea. Decorate boxes with different color Christmas wrap and different type of bows such as raffia, yarn, tiny bows. Let your imagination run wild. Have received lots of compliments on this project and what's great it cost you next to nothing.

I can't send you a e-mail to expand what a Santa Hat purse is.
I'll try to post a pictre of it in the gallery.
