Our Condensers, gas meter, electricity meter, phone and cable hookups are all on one side of the house. On the outside wall of a garage, opposite side of the house from the Master Bedroom. The meters will be above some of the driveway pad, so no plantings to hide them, but the Condensers will probably get some bushes. Know how big any plants will get and keep the proper distance from the condensers.

What do you think is proper distance? My builder says they need to be 2.5 feet away from house and 2 feet away from other units and 2 feet away from plantings. It ends up being a huge space.

Depending on the size of the unit even 2 feet may not be enough clearance.

Anything that interferes with air flow through the units will decrease their efficiency.

The owner's manual should state the clearances needed.
