I haven't seen those.

I learned this trick from a nursery. If you want shiny pumpkins, put some vegetable oil on a papertowel and rub the pumpkin down with it. You can rub with a clean papertowel if you get too much oil on it.

I spray mine with some clear (cheap) spray paint. Get the .99 can from Wal-Mart. It makes them look shiney - it doesn't preserve them - I don' think anything does - but it really looks nice.

If I remember right, I think some people use Pledge.

I saw one of those shiny pumpkins and asked how it was done. The gal told me it was lacquared. And no, doesn't preserve them, just makes them last a little bit longer. I'm going to try a spray-on high gloss finish on a real pumpkin and see what happens. I only paid $1 for the pumpkin and eventually will throw it away anyways so what the heck, at least I tried.
