Appliance Recommendations/Suggestions

I am remodeling my kitchen and am looking for suggestions on my appliance choices. Items I am looking at are listed first with options following them. Would very much like your suggestions and recommendations.

(and yes, I have read through a lot in these forums :))

1. 36" Induction cooktop - Bosch 800, Fagor, Wolf, Electrolux, Thermador
- getting a floor model (FM) Wolf for $3199 - unused
- Bosch 800 - $2600

2. Single Gas Burner - Miele (12 or 15), Wolf (15), Others?
- getting a FM Wolf for $1179 - unused
- Miele 12 - $949, Miele 15 - $1149

3. 24" Convection/Steam Oven - Wolf (since that is the only one I know that can accept a 1/2 sheet pan)
- getting a FM for $3199 - unused

4. 30" Single Electric oven - American Range (FD), Wolf (L or E), Bosch 500, Electrolux, Thermador
- getting a FM Wolf L-series for $3999 - unused
- getting a new AR for $3100

5. 24" MW Drawer - Sharp (decided)

6. Wall Mount Range Hood - Ventahood 54" with 900CFM (PRH18-354SS). Is this too much power for a 36" induction and the gas wok burner?

7. 24" Under-counter refrigerator - Kitchen Aid, U-Line

8. French Door and Full Depth Refrigerator - Whirlpool (WRF989SDAM), Kitchen-Aid (KFIS29BBMS), others?
- The reason for a Full Depth is that that is the only one that can accept a 1/2 sheet pan length-wise. All CD are very small on shelf space.
Any in the Liebherr or SZ or others that would accept 1/2 sheet pans?

9. Dishwasher - Bosch 800+ or even the 300 series (SHX43R55UC), Miele (G5575SCSFSS), Kitchen Aid
- looking for a 3rd rack (cutlery)

Thanx,
Mahesh (mk)

I have the Wolf E series - quite nice - It only comes with one sliding rack - but has a large cavity since the bottom rack is very low.
I also considered the Elux Icon which I think is one of the sexiest ovens on the market - it has 3 gliding racks!

I just checked my Elux fridge with a 1/2 sheet pan and it can work - It extends out past the shelf but I was able to close the door even with beer bottles on one door rack and 1/2 gallon milk bottles on the other side - it was one reason I picked the Elux. It is now 2.5 years old and still love it!

Dishwasher - Miele all the way! - just be sure to use the Miele or Finish cubes and not Cascade! (and don't rinses your dishes!!!)

Thanx a2gemini for checking the 1/2 sheet pan in the Elux. What is your model #?
Thanx for the tip on the DW cubes/detergent. Which Miele DW do you have?

For Gary (dodge59) - does the non-Icon Elux have 3 gliding racks or one? I believe you have the non-Icon?

I have the Single Icon, bought over 6 years ago now.
It has 3 glide out racks.

Do a search at the bottom of the appliance page for Electrolux oven and you should find your answer.

If I had to go from memory about those posts, (Not a good idea at my age), it does seem like the Non Icons only had one ball bearing rack, but best to check for yourself.

Better Yet, download the Operator's manual for the model Elux oven you are interested in from the AJMadison site!

Sure been happy with ours and in fact the ball bearing fully gliding out racks, along with the huge control/display readout was the main reason we bought the Elux. It was the only oven for sale back then, that I could operate without my reading glasses, and still may very well be!

I may have been the first one here in Garden Web to buy the Elux as, (at that point in time), the Miele Oven was
"Everybody's Baby Here"---well that's a bit of a stretch but the Miele was pretty popular at that point in time.

    Good luck with your decisions!

    Elux ei23bc51is2
It has the led lights-love them!
And the perfect temp drawer - the pans stick out but I could close the doors without a problem. I took my favorite trays to the store to test but would recommend trying it urself

    Oops.
DW is the Miele g 2872. It is also 2.5 years old. I love the feature that pops the door open at the end to promote drying. I didn't want it when I was hunting but love it.
I would recommend the extended warranty on the DW. Our first one was a lemon but we got a full refund and I was determined to get something else. After looking- I knew I had to stay with Miele.

Look up iPad chopping board to get a good laugh. Problem is he rinsed the iPad.. I use the video in my classes when the class needs a pick up!

We have a non-Icon Elux single oven. It has 2 glide-out racks. The oven has been a workhorse for me. I bake a lot and the oven is flawless. I also just discovered that the broiler is fabulous! For Christmas I made miso-marinated black cod. I've made it before, but this year I discovered that the Elux broiler made perfectly crispy skin. It was a revelation, turning the dish from good to amazing.

We also have the 36" Thermador induction cooktop. I haven't any experience with other brands, but the Thermador has been stellar from the first day. I still haven't learnt all the tricks it can perform, but the basics (sear, saute, boil, simmer) are all perfect. I couldn't ask for more.

We have a Kobe 720cfm vent over the induction cooktop. This is all I've needed so far, but I don't have a gas burner. I have no idea what that requires.

    Thanx a2gemini for the models!

Thanx jadeite for the information on the Thermador and the non-Icon Elux. Do you have the auto-sense/autochef model for the Thermador?

mk - yes we have the sensordome model (now discontinued). This is one of the (many) functions I have yet to learn. When we were looking at different models, someone on this forum said that the sensordome was useless so it wasn't a factor in our decision. I guess some day I'll have to break down and learn the different programmable options.
