Anyone know what this doll could be called?

Hi. I am new here. I was at a home today and the woman makes these little dolls about maybe 4 inches high. I know it has wire for arms and legs as u can bend them including the hands which is only a wire circle. The dress is silk flower petals, the hair has a acorn cap for the cap. They have wings which r larger flower petals. They r adorable and I would love to try to make some but have no clue what to look up on the net. She says that there is a site that sells them either in kit or made up. If i could at least get a kit i could make more just from knowing how it is made in the first place.

I hope I explained this ok so u all know what I am talking about. It is not really a doll to play with but to look for so that is why i came to the crafters forum. Thanks

    What darling little fairies!!

That's it. I knew I came to the right place. They r even cuter in person. Someone has a web site where she sells these for $48. The lady I know sells them for $18. She uses wool for hair that she has to work with and it takes about 3 hours to make but if one can make and sell for even $18 that is a nice profit.
I would have asked her the name but don't even know her name. LOLOL. I know. I am bad. Always had a prob with names.
    Thanks so very much.

this is to puffysmom -- I see you mentioned about the lady cahrging $48 for these little dolls. I made these last year for my family. There is a whole book you can get to make these if they still have it. I bought my book called -- Felt Wee Folks: Enchanting Projects by Salley Mavor - paperback at Amozon .com -- there are some numbers under the title -- (** P-4-B155G25**) and also numbers 1571201939 I paid $16.77 on 8-23-04.
The book is easy to read and they're easy to make. You might want to check if Amazon.com or other book suppliers have the book.

I love these! I don't know what it is exactly about them, but they remind of something from my childhood.

I attend an ornament party every year and have to take 24 ornies. I'm considering making these for next year. I just love them and I think everyone else would too. Since they're all handwork, a lot could be done while watching TV at night.

CraftyLinda- may I ask you a question? In the book, what other kinds of little people are there? The cover of the book doesn't show too much. If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to know before I get the book. Thanks!

this is to flamingo in ar: this is from craftylinda:
the book is 80 pages long. They say to use wool felt, which I did, it's a little heavier than regular felt. You can use some regular felt on some things. It has a lot of differnt fairies, which are very pretty. It also has a lot of other dolls. The dolls are sized from 1 1/2" 2 12/"
3" 3 1/2" and 4" is the tallest. They have men, ladies,
and children dolls. They have Hansel, Gretel, and a witch doll. They have a Royal Family -- king, queen, prince,
princess knight, jester, and a wizard. They also have a Harvest Folk group -- shown on a page with fall pumpkin houses(not included in book) parents, boy, girl, mother & baby, older kids. They have a page called the Driftwood Clan -- shows a rustic house (plans not in book)
shows all differnt size dolls -- boys, girls, parents, babies, twins, pirate -- 17 dolls on that page.
Also has a page of felt pins --all are appliqued & beaded -
the shapes are round, oval, hearts, 1 shows a small fairy on a fall leaf -12 in all. Another page has small felt appliqued purses(looks more like wallets_ 8 styles.
Another page has felt appliqued checkbook holder and cellphone cover. Another page has felt appliqued Balsam Pillows - 3 designs. Another page has a 3D look felt appliqued picture -- size says 8" x 11" -- has 2 color border - house on hill with tree & leaves, sky -- bottom
half is rectangle garden with flowers, boy, girl, dog,
bottom has 3 fall leaves. Last page has a square 7" x 7"
picture -- main color & then border color - 6 differnet fall leaves, center leaf has a fall fairy on the leaf sleeping. I hope theat helped answer your question.
I love this book and think it was worth the price I paid for it. My family loved the fairies. They had not saw them before.

Oh, Linda! Thank you so much, I didn't mean for you to go to so much trouble for me, but I appreciate it so much. I am definitely getting this book, and probably a kit or two, so I can see what kind of materials I'll need to hunt for. This is just so much up my alley! I've always loved little things and these are so cute. And pirates?! I love pirates. lolol

Thank you again, Linda, you're a doll for giving me all these details.

Thanks so much for asking about these dolls, Puffysmom, and to Evelyn and Linda for all the info and links.
