Blue Icicle

I saw these on another fourm and thought, what a wonderful idea, the poster had a poem to go with it, and its given to someone who has lost a loved one! I will try and post a link to her post.

Wanted to add that mine are the $ store kind I painted with a mix of white glue and food coloring, I read this idea on a post and wanted to try it, makes the icicle look translucent, the poster was useing this as a glass paint. now for my ? would you put a small bow on top and if so what color? sorry about the photo did it on my scaner.

thanks for looking

Super pretty Oddie. That idea about the white glue and food coloring - what is the ratio of mix? Sounds pretty neat. I can understand the glue drying transparent.

Oddie, On the website you gave us at voy.com, it showed the icicle in a bag and the poem is with it. Can't you just use that one or modify it to suit your situation?

What a nice idea those are. I think a small silver glittery bow at the top would look good. Blue & silver are always a good combination.

Thanks Luvs , I did copy her poem, but was hopeing for one for a mother, I am not good with words to change it, so I will leave it as is, you were right a silver bow is just what it needs!

no poem - just the clear glass icicle ornies I got on clearance last year. just used white glue and glitter. (mine was from doller store) remove ornie top, pour glue inside, tilt and roll to cover inside fully - turn upside down to drain excess glue. wait about 5-10 minutes until glue is tacky - you do not want it moving around inside. pour in glitter to cover all. let dry. mine took about three days to dry. was amazing to me. each day more and more glitter sparkles from top down. when all is sparkly and dry, turn over and remove extra glitter to reuse. recap. these were simple and from now on (LOL) no glitter to fall off all over. got dirctions off a website somewhere. works with all clear ornies.

surfergal, thanks for posting, I am a little confused, you said remove orrine top, the icicle I have are just clear hard plastic with no lid, are you useing the clear glass bulbs, or are there icicle that you can remove the top from?
Iam sure they are pretty, would love to see a photo
    Thanks

Oddie, Dollar Tree has some clear glass ones that are shorter and fatter than yours, but hollow inside. Six to a package.

They had clear and white long plastic icicles, but they were flat, not round. Are yours round? Can't tell from the picture.
