do you have a laminator? if so it would seal a picture so that you could use it outdoors, you could then attach it to wood or what ever without the worrie of rain or snow damsgeing you photo, thats all I can think of. I am sure others will jump on here and help, good luck to you, I hope it works out, I cant even imagine how auful it would be to lose a child!

Ok thanks I do have one. xyron 900 I have a double sided that i can use or i can use the single side and put on the block. Then also put the hard plastic on top and seal it. Thanks. jan

I think you'll still have to worry about the sun fading the photo. What about photo etching? This idea seems cheaper and more permanent.

I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SUN FADNG THE PICTURE. LAMINATING THE PICTURE WILL PRPTECT IT FROM MOISTURE BUT TO PREVENT THE FADING I THINK YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT IT UNDER SOME TYPE OF UV PREVENTING GLASS OR PLASTIC. ALSO IF YOU WISH THIS TO BE A PERMANENT ADDITION TO YOUR SON'S GRAVE YOU MIGHT SEE ABOUT MOUNTING THE PICTURE ON METAL OR PLASTIC AND USING A PERMANENT GLUE TO ATTACH IT. CHECK WITH YOUR AREA'S MONUMENT PROVIDER TO SEE WHAT THEY SUGGEST. OR MAYBE YOUR HARDWARE STORE FOR ADHESIVES.

Thanks girl's I have the little boy and dog on his grave and it is silcone on there it wont come off. That's what I will be painting this week end cause the sun did fad it out. And it is a patio stand. Why not do the picture in black and white? That is what's on my cousin grave his picture is black and white. But I just cant pay 2500.00 for the picture. I will check it out when I go down there this week end and see what they say about the picture.Go to someone different. And ask them about it. thanks again.

After getting the pic onto the wood, can you use a marine clear sealant to protect it? So sorry for the loss of your son.

A Marine clear sealant is used to protect boats and such that are on the water. I typed in "marine clear sealant" in my web browser line and one of the sites that came up was Home Depot - I was able to copy the below into this post. This product is in a tube like window sealant. One of the gals in the Garden Junk forum using a marine varnish to protect items that she is putting outdoors in the elements. She used a marine varnish on a garden bench that was made out of a bed frame and then she painted it and sealed it with the marine varnish. It is a stonger sealant than just a spray on type you find at Michael's or Joann's craft stores to seal your decorative painting works. I would assume Home Depot or other home building store like that (Lowe's for one) will carry the sealant/varnish in a liquid form in a paint can container and you could brush it on. Do a web search as I did, there are many sites you can look up sealants.
