Mtnrdredux: No I don't care for opera, but I do love Miss Billie and Nora Jones! We listen to Billie Holiday and Cole Porter a lot, especially when we play Gin on weekend evenings, for some reason. I guess it just fits the mood then, which is romantic . . . unless I'm winning pretty much every hand like I did last Saturday (LOL!).

Don't laugh, but my all time favorite album was one of Julio Iglasias' early one's. Maybe with Barbra Sreisand? I'm talking about the 80s here. Back then his voice made me swoon. :)

I love Joshua Radin's We Were Here album. Soft, smooth, introspective and all the songs have the same flow.

John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman. Recorded in 1963, it doesn't get any better than this.

Favorite romantic music is Linda Ronstadt, For Sentimental Reasons, with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. This is an old album (1990) produced in the full on, orchestral style of the 1940s. Every single song is wonderful--- and its an eclectic mix from different eras: My Funny Valentine, When You Wish Upon A Star, Am I Blue?, You Go To My Head, and others. I bought the Cd in the early 90s and now have it on my iPod. It has been a staple of the past few decades. Our anniversary is Valentines Day and 2013 marked our 31st year together :-)

If you speak French, or just like French music, Canciones de Amor: Vol. 8 Francia, has a lot of beautiful music of many different types, including Edith Piaf, if you are familiar with her chanteuse style. And in the series there are albums with Spanish and Italian music as well as other types.

Anything by Andrea Bocelli - he's also got a new album coming out called Passione - maybe for next year's Valentine's Day?

Olychick, I purchased Bocelli's Passione on January 29. I gave it to DH for his birthday on Valentine's Day.

Sis3, what do you think? Do you recommend it? I probably should have said anything by Pavarotti, too. Those guys make me weak in the knees.

Olyachick, honestly DH does not seem nearly as pleased with Passione as he was with Vivere! Since Passione was a gift from me he won't tell me he is disappointed, of course, but I sense that he may be! He does say that it is not Bocelli's usual style of music and that he lacks passion at times.
I'm afraid I can't give you my own opinion as DH has had the CD in his car since his birthday!

Thank you all again for the great recommendations. Sorry I didn't get back here sooner but many things happened here this past week and I've been swamped with dealing with them all! (They're all good things, though: our son will be getting out of the Army next month and is stopping by here for a few days on his way to his new civilian job; DD is bringing 5 kids home for their college Spring Break . . . at the same time as DS will be here. And my elderly parents have finally decided to sell both their homes in 2 states and move back near family. And now I'll need to fly down to Tampa and help them pack.)

But, I'm so excited to have the names of some good new cds to buy. Thanks again!
