How to turn off ATT's voice mail

I just purchased the long distance package from ATT and unfortunately it includes the CallNotes Plus Voice Mail function. I don't want to use it. I would rather have messages go to my land line answering machine. Currently, I have an announcement on the ATT service for callers NOT to leave messages because I am not checking. The problem is that the answering machine is not picking up the unanswered calls at all.

Anyone know how to fix?

did you try calling AT&T and asking them? they can tell you how to disable it. tell them it is answering too soon and you want to set it for like 20 rings if you cannot turn it off completely.

AT&T deleted the feature from my system. I didn't go to them first because I have been waiting for 3 weeks for them to disconnect the call waiting feature. Every rep I talk to says he made the fix, but then it never was fixed.
